PlanetPlay's Jude Ower MBE honoured at inaugural Playing for the Planet Awards

We are thrilled that Jude Ower MBE, Chief Strategy Officer at PlanetPlay, has been recognised at the first-ever Playing for the Planet Awards in the Champion category, alongside ustwo games’ amazing producer Jennifer Estaris.

This joint accolade celebrates Jude’s unwavering commitment to integrating environmental sustainability within the games industry, encompassing her work here at PlanetPlay, Playmob before that and long-term collaborations with organisations such as Playing for the Planet and UNDP.

The Playing for the Planet Awards, held on November 18 in Helsinki, aim to highlight the games industry’s efforts in promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness. The awards featured three main categories:

1. Purpose-Driven Games: Celebrating games that incorporate environmental themes to inspire players towards eco-friendly actions.
2. Environmentally Themed In-Game Events or Social Media Campaigns: Recognizing initiatives that effectively engage the gaming community in environmental causes.
3. Change-Making Studios & Champion Individuals: Honouring studios and individuals leading the charge in environmental advocacy within the gaming world.
