We’re thrilled to share that PlanetPlay has received the special Editor’s Choice Games For A Better World Award at the MCV/Develop Awards 2025, held on June 19th in London.
The award celebrates outstanding efforts to create positive social or environmental change within the games industry, and we are truly honoured to receive this recognition for our work to embed climate action into games through initiatives like Make Green Moves and the Play2Act global gamer survey.
Our CEO, Rhea Loucas, attended the event in person to accept the award and shared the following words: "This award means so much to us, not just as a team, but as a movement. PlanetPlay exists to help the games industry and its players take meaningful action on climate and nature. To be recognised by the MCV/Develop community is deeply humbling, and a powerful sign that the industry is ready to Make Green Moves together."
None of this would be possible without our incredible studio partners, industry allies, and of course, the players who have supported our mission from the beginning. Every green DLC purchased, every Play2Act response, every partnership formed, it all helps drive real-world change.
We also want to extend our congratulations to all the other amazing finalists and winners on the night. It’s inspiring to see so many brilliant people and projects being celebrated across the industry.
Also being a finalist in the Campaign of the Year category for Make Green Moves alongside such outstanding work is an honour in itself, and only motivates us to go further.
This win isn’t the end of the story: it’s a milestone in what we hope will be a long-term transformation of how our industry engages with sustainability.
Together, we can play our way to a better world.
